Room Attendant

Job Description:

The Alt Hotel Halifax is currently recruiting for full-time and part-time Housekeeping Room Attendants. As the ideal candidate, you are highly dependable and reliable with a positive attitude. You take great pride in your work, possessing a strong sense of urgency and an excellent attention to detail. You are a strong team player, with a flexible schedule and reliable transportation.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Clean assigned guest rooms according to the company’s standards, including the daily changing of bed linens, replacing towels, cleaning the bathroom, dusting, vacuuming carpets and the removal of garbage and recyclables
  • Ensure all corridors, housekeeping closets and public areas are cleaned to company standard
  • Report any maintenance problems in the guest rooms
  • Maintain proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Report lost and found items as per hotel policy

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Canadian working permit
  • Previous housekeeping experience an asset
  • High standards of cleanliness
  • Proven guest service ability with an attention to detail
  • High level of enthusiasm and energy
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Must be able to understand both oral and written English

Salary Range: $11.65 per hour
