The CHArt Society (Culture, Heritage & Arts) is a registered charity in Maitland, NS. It is known for its annual Launch Festival, theatre productions, concerts, and community events.

We are looking for an organized, energetic and self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a variety of situations with a creative and eclectic group of board members, volunteers, performers, community members and tourists.

Requirements include the capacity to work independently as well as being a part of a team. This position is intended to employ a candidate for a summer term spanning approximately 8 weeks with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Other Requirements :
  • Assist Board of Directors, committees and volunteers
  • Filing
  • Bookkeeping
  • Research on specific topics
  • Promotion and marketing - website and social media updating
  • Program creation and planning (assisting Directors) for youth, community members, visitors and tourists
  • Assist at events (set up, take down, food service)
  • Fundraising events
  • Assist with theatrical performances, concerts and Launch Festival
  • Assist with improvement projects at the Centre
  • Greeting and welcoming guests, community members and tourists
  • Assist with food service
Salary Range: $12 per hour
