We have an immediate opening for an Executive Chef offering $50 – 55,000 per annum dependant on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefit package upon completing 6 months of employ. As Executive Chef, you are fully responsible for enhancing the reputation of the hotel through the production of excellent quality food, and the development of a high-quality food services team. An Executive Chef will oversee the operational management of the kitchen team ensuring excellent customer service is delivered to both our external and internal customers. This job entails working in a fast pace environment preparing safe food in accordance with Canadian guidelines, maintaining a consistent workflow. As the Chef you will be primarily responsible for supervising and assisting in the preparation of all food items and ensure the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen, minimize waste, and optimize cost/production ratio. You must also ensure that all meals coming from the kitchen are well prepared with regard to quality, consistency, eye appeal, taste and food cost. This is to be achieved by delegating the workload throughout the kitchen.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A Culinary Journeyman papers from an accredited institution preferred;
- Serve Safe or other recognized Food Safety Certificate
- Minimum two years experience in a leadership role in foodservices; management experience preferred
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Achieve a high standard of presentation and great attention to detail
